A video of an amphibious armed forces vehicle is making a huge splash on the internet… pun definitely intended. It is seriously amazing to see the advances of military weapons and vehicles in motion. You don’t want to miss this!
The video was posted online back in September 2015, but sometimes an oldie yet goodie like this just needs to be shared again.
According to the Facebook caption that came with the video, the clips shows an “Indonesian Marine LVTP-7 splashing to water after ‘jumping’ from the pier at Cilegon.” It was further reported that this was in preparation for the Indonesian Armed Forces 70th Anniversary Celebration.
See the video below and marvel in the epic splash created when the vehicle plunged 10 feet down into the water.
The video went viral when it first came out, garnering over 300 comments, over 7,800 shares, and 650,000 viewss.
An amphibious vehicle is one that can transition from land to water, and some versions can even be completely submerged under water. There are versions of amphibious vehicles ranging from ATVs, automobiles, buses, bicycles, hovercraft, trucks and of course, military vehicles.
According to Popular Mechanics, which profiled the above video, this amphibious military vehicle is “designed to drive off the lower well deck of a Navy ship and float/drive 21 fully geared-up marines onto shore.”
Imagine being inside that thing?!
That splash has got to come with a mix of excitement, anticipation, and fear. It’s like the grown up version of the “Jurassic Park” water ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.
I mean… look at it! “Geronimo” is the word that comes to mind.
